Navodaya Vidyalaya Schools in Maur, Punjab
Navodaya Vidyalayas are set up in rural parts of India. These schools get full funding from the Government of India, although the management lies with Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, which operates under the Ministry of Human Resource Development. These schools took birth in 1986 to uplift the students of poorer sections of society. Education in Navodaya Vidyalayas is free to all, however, they take a nominal fee of Rs 200 from the students of class 9th to 12th. Students of SC/ST or girl students get an exemption from the fee.
