NEET (UG) 2026 candidates now have a short window to flag any mistakes in how their answer sheets were read. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has put up the scanned images of the OMR answer sheets and recorded responses, and students who spot a mismatch can raise an objection online. The window opened on 13 July 2026 and shuts on 15 July 2026 at 11:00 AM.
The scanned copy of each candidate’s OMR sheet has also been emailed to the address they registered with during the NEET (UG)-2026 application. So there are two ways to view it: log in on the website, or check your inbox.
This relates to the re-exam of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UG)-2026, held on 21 June 2026 (Sunday) from 02:00 PM to 05:15 PM (IST).
Here is what candidates need to know at a glance:
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Activity | Recorded Response Challenge |
| Processing fee | Rs 200 for each response challenge (non-refundable) |

One point worth reading twice: the Answer Key Challenge is already over. No challenge to answer keys will be entertained now. This round is only about whether the scanning agency correctly recorded the option you actually marked.
How to log in. To keep data safe, NTA has switched on Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). After entering your Application Number and Password, you’ll get a One-Time Password (OTP) on your registered mobile number and email. Enter it to reach the challenge portal.
How the challenge works. Once inside, click “View/Challenge OMR Sheet & Recorded Responses”. You’ll see a high-resolution scan of your submitted OMR sheet next to the options the scanning machine read. Compare them question by question. If a recorded option differs from what you marked, pick that question number and tick your claimed option. The same applies to data fields like Roll No., Booklet No. or Set Code.
Each individual challenge costs Rs 200. The system adds up the total based on how many challenges you raise. Pay online through Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking or UPI. No challenge is accepted without the fee, and none will be taken through any other mode of communication.
A note on refunds. The public notice calls the Rs 200 fee non-refundable, while the annexure says the processing fee is refundable if your claim is verified as correct and the scanning agency is found to have read the parameters wrongly.
After you pay, click “Submit Challenge”, then download and print the Acknowledgement Page. Keep it for future reference.
NTA has also flagged a warning. If a challenge is found to rest on a manipulated or tampered scanned image, it will be treated as a case of Unfair Means (UFM), and action such as debarment or legal proceedings may follow.
For any doubt, candidates can call 011-40759000 or 011-69227700, or email neetug2026@nta.ac.in. Keep an eye on https://www.nta.ac.in/ and https://neet.nta.nic.in/ for updates.
