UGC-NET December 2026 Correction Window Opens, Closes 4 November

UGC-NET December 2026 Correction Window Opens, Closes 4 November

The form is open for edits, but not for long. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has opened the UGC-NET December 2026 correction window, letting registered candidates fix a limited set of particulars in their Online Application Forms. The window runs from 2 November 2026 to 4 November 2026, up to 11:50 P.M. After that, no changes.

This is a one-time facility. Once you submit your corrections, the form is frozen and the agency won’t accept any further edits. So check everything before you hit submit.

All candidates are asked to log in at https://ugcnet.nta.nic.in and go through their form carefully. Only the permitted fields can be touched during these three days.

What the UGC-NET December 2026 correction window lets you change

NTA has split the fields into what you can edit and what stays locked. Here’s the breakdown from the official notice.

Action Fields
Cannot be changed Mobile Number, E-Mail address, Address (Permanent and Present), Photograph (image uploaded), Signature (image uploaded)
Any ONE allowed Candidate Name OR Father Name OR Mother Name
Allowed Date of Birth, Gender, Category, Sub-category / PwBD (if not verified by UDID Portal), Subject
Allowed Examination City Selection

A word on the exam city. Candidates can revise their city preferences based on their Permanent and Present Addresses, but NTA has made clear it is not bound to allot a city as per the candidate’s preference.

Fee rules for corrections

Some edits cost money. If a correction pushes up the applicable fee, the candidate has to pay the extra amount. Fees already paid will not be refunded.

Also worth knowing: a correction that needs an additional fee takes effect only after that payment goes through successfully. Any extra fee has to be paid through Credit/Debit Card, Net Banking or UPI only.

About the exam

UGC-NET is the national eligibility test that decides who qualifies for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), appointment as Assistant Professor, and admission to Ph.D. programmes in Indian universities and colleges. NTA runs it.

Stuck somewhere in the process? Candidates can reach the NTA Helpdesk at 011-40759000 or write to ugcnet@nta.ac.in for help with UGC-NET December 2026.

The practical takeaway is simple. Open your form before 11:50 P.M. on 4 November 2026, make the edits you need, and remember you get just one shot at it.
