CBSE Sets 29 July for Class 12 Supplementary Practicals

CBSE Sets 29 July for Class 12 Supplementary Practicals

Class 12 students sitting the CBSE Supplementary Examinations, 2026 now have firm dates for their practical exams. The board will hold them from 29 July to 04 August 2026. Before that, there’s one thing every affected student must do: reach your school or exam centre by 27 July 2026, mark sheet and admit card in hand.

The guidelines cover two groups of compartment candidates.

  • RP (Repeat in Practical): students placed in the Compartment category because they need to repeat only the practical in a subject.
  • RB (Repeat in Theory and Practical Both): students who have to repeat both the theory and the practical in one or more subjects.

What each group has to sit differs, and the distinction matters.

An RP candidate appears in the practical exam alone during the Supplementary Examinations. No theory paper. The earlier theory marks stay on record and get carried forward. An RB candidate, on the other hand, has to write both, the theory paper and the practical, during the Supplementary Examinations, 2026.

Where the practicals happen

For regular candidates, the practical exams run in their own schools. Private candidates report to the examination centres fixed for their theory papers. If a centre or school can’t manage the practical for a particular subject, the concerned Regional Office arranges it at a nearby centre or school.

Regional Offices appoint the external examiners for all Class 12 students. The internal examiner comes from the school’s own teachers, picked by the school or centre superintendent. Principals and centre superintendents have been told plainly: don’t appoint external examiners on your own.

Marks go up the same day

The school or centre conducting the practical uploads each candidate’s marks on the portal on the same day the exam is held. Once uploaded, those marks are final. The board will not accept any request to change them later, so accuracy at entry is on the examiner.

Schools have their own prep to finish: a subject-wise list of all candidates due for practicals, and early contact with the Regional Office for external examiners. Students should watch for the date and time their centre assigns and turn up on time.
