A deep dive hands on learning, organised by the CBSE, and titled CBSE-Intel AI-THON, is going to be held soon. The event to be held from July 15-19, 2019 is organised in collaboration with Intel in order to introduce students to the basics of AI (or Artificial Intelligence).
The venue for the workshop is Chandigarh and CBSE has invited students from all over India to apply for the workshop. This is going to be one of a kind experience for students as for here they would practically get to see ideas turning into projects.
The five day workshop is not just seeing CBSE for the first time making its foray in the field of AI but also engaging students into this new domain of learning. Students would get empowered by learning AI skills thereby making use of them to solve problems faced today such as climate change, food security, health, sanitation, etc. In other words, after attending the CBSE-Intel AI-THON workshop the student would be AI ready.
The workshop would accept students on a first come first serve basis and the total number of available seats is fifty. While the workshop is responsible for providing training content and refreshments, a student with good proficiency in the subject mathematics and prior knowledge of python, would find this workshop more self enriching.
In case a school is planning to send some of its students to the workshop, a maximum of five students would be allowed by the organisers. The important core themes covered by the workshop are accountability, computer vision, AI ethics, natural language processing, privacy, data collection, creating real time projects and diversity. Students from grades eighth to twelth are eligible to apply.
