Students enrolled in SWAYAM courses for the July 2026 semester now know when they will sit for their end-term exam. The National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducts the assessment for these online courses, has fixed the exam over five days in December 2026. Two more days are kept aside as buffer.
The SWAYAM July 2026 semester exam will run from 08 December to 12 December 2026. If any date gets disturbed, the agency has held 13 and 14 December 2026 in reserve.
SWAYAM stands for Study Webs of Active Learning for Young Aspiring Minds. It is the government’s free online learning platform, where school and college learners take courses and then appear for a proctored exam to earn credit or certification. NTA runs this examination cycle each semester.
SWAYAM July 2026 semester exam dates at a glance
| Examination | Semester | Dates of Exam | Buffer Dates |
|---|---|---|---|
| Study Webs of Active Learning for Young Aspiring Minds (SWAYAM-17) | July 2026 | 08, 09, 10, 11 and 12 December 2026 | 13 and 14 December 2026 |
Buffer dates are a safety net. They come into use only if the exam on a scheduled day has to be moved, say due to a technical problem or some other disruption. Candidates should not assume their paper falls on 13 or 14 December unless NTA tells them so.
What candidates should do now
The agency has asked everyone registered for the July 2026 semester to keep checking its official pages for fresh updates on the exam. Details like the city, centre, and shift usually follow closer to the exam through the admit card.
