The National Testing Agency has put out a revised examination calendar, and if you are preparing for JEE Main, CUET PG, UGC NET or any other NTA test, your dates may have moved. The new schedule runs from the December 2026 cycle onwards and replaces whatever was announced earlier. So check it before you lock any travel or coaching plans.
The agency says the calendar was revised for administrative reasons. The updated schedule, with dates for each exam, is on the NTA website at https://nta.ac.in.
One line matters most here: the revised calendar supersedes the previously issued schedule. Treat the older dates as cancelled.

What changes for students
JEE Main aspirants get both their windows here. Session 1 falls on 20 to 24 and 28 January 2027, and Session 2 runs 02 to 7 April 2027. CUET PG, the big postgraduate admission test, is spread across 17 days in March 2027, from 02 March to 31 March with gaps in between.
For UGC NET candidates, the December cycle is set for 14 to 18 and 21 December 2026. The Joint CSIR UGC NET December cycle follows on 19, 22 and 27 December 2026.
A quick note on what these exams are. UGC NET decides eligibility for assistant professor roles and junior research fellowships. CUET PG opens the door to postgraduate programmes in central universities. JEE Main is the gateway to NITs, IIITs and other engineering seats, and also the first step towards JEE Advanced.
One caution from the NTA itself: these dates are tentative and may change owing to administrative, academic, statutory, logistical or other reasons. The agency has asked candidates to rely only on information published on the official NTA website and the respective exam portals, and to keep checking for updates.
