National Conference on Science Education 2026 at RIE Mysuru: Abstract Submission Open

Teachers, research scholars and even school students who work with science ideas have a reason to mark their calendars. The Regional Institute of Education (RIE), Mysuru, a constituent unit of NCERT, will host the National Conference on Science Education 2026 from 28 to 30 December 2026. The call for abstracts is open, and there is no registration fee.

The conference is organised by the Department of Education in Science and Mathematics at RIE Mysuru, Karnataka. It brings together educators, researchers, scientists, policymakers, industry experts and research scholars to share work and ideas on science teaching.

National Conference on Science Education 2026: who can take part

Participation is open to a wide group: faculty members, scientists, teacher educators, school teachers, researchers, students, curriculum developers, industry professionals, policymakers and technologists. Anyone with original research tied to the conference themes may send in a paper.

Themes for paper submission

The organisers have listed several broad themes for the sessions:

  • Integration of Research into Pedagogy
  • Reimagining Science Education for Viksit Bharat 2047
  • Blending Traditional Knowledge with Modern Science Education
  • Digital Technologies, AI and the Future of Science Teaching
  • Environmental Sustainability and Climate Literacy through Science Education

How to submit: abstract, then full paper

Start with an abstract. It must give a clear summary of the original research, spell out the study’s objectives, main findings and key conclusions, and stay within 200 words. Abstracts go through a review, and selected ones are invited to send a full-length paper.

The full paper carries stricter rules. Keep it within 2,500 words. Prepare it in MS Word (Times New Roman, 12 font size, 1.5 line spacing) and follow APA 7th Edition style, in this order: Title, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussions, Conclusion and References. A plagiarism report must come with the manuscript, and the similarity index should not cross 10 percent, leaving out references and direct quotations.

Selected high-quality papers may be considered for publication in NCERT journals or Springer Conference proceedings after the publishers’ peer-review process. Authors of selected papers get slots for oral or poster presentations. Three outstanding oral presentations and three exceptional poster presentations will receive Best Oral/Poster Presentation Awards.
