Schools affiliated to CBSE have one more fortnight to get their candidate lists right. The board has sent a fresh reminder to all principals, pressing them to submit the List of Candidates (LOC) for the Class X and Class XII 2026-2027 examinations correctly and on time. The firm last date is 21 October 2026 (Wednesday).
LOC is the official list every affiliated school files with CBSE, naming the students who will appear in the Class 10 and Class 12 board exams along with their subjects and personal details. Whatever a school enters here flows straight into admit cards, answer sheets, and the final marksheet. A slip at this stage follows a student right through the exam cycle.
CBSE LOC submission 2026-27: what the reminder says
This is the board’s latest nudge on a process it has already explained in detail. CBSE first sent a prior intimation about LOC submission on 10 September 2026, followed by a full notification on 17 September 2026 that laid out every pre-requisite for filling the LOC for the Class X and XII examination 2026-2027. A webinar on the importance of LOC and registration data was held on 29 September 2026 (Tuesday) to walk schools through correct filling.
Now the board wants principals to act on all of that before the window closes.
What schools have been asked to do
CBSE has spelt out three clear steps for every affiliated school:
- Go through the earlier circulars carefully before filling up candidates’ data.
- Brief the staff handling the data entry on all the guidelines in those circulars, so mistakes are avoided.
- Tell parents why correct data matters, and what can go wrong if the information submitted is incorrect.
The board has asked principals to keep following up with their teams so the school files its LOC accurately and within the deadline.
Key dates at a glance
| Item | Date |
|---|---|
| Prior intimation on LOC | 10 September 2026 |
| Detailed notification on LOC pre-requisites | 17 September 2026 |
| Webinar on LOC and registration data | 29 September 2026 |
| Last date to submit LOC | 21 October 2026 |
For parents, the takeaway is simple. Check with your child’s school that the name, subjects, and other details recorded for the board exam are spelt and entered correctly, and do it before 21 October 2026. Once the LOC is locked, corrections become a headache nobody wants during exam season.
