Schools have a two-month window to bring the idea of a developed India into the classroom. CBSE has asked all affiliated schools to run the Yuva for Viksit Bharat Programme 2026 through September and October 2026, built around nation building, patriotism and Sewa (service). Principals must record what their students do and file a short report by 31 October 2026.
The board has left the format open. Instead of one fixed event, it has listed suggested activities and asked schools to pick and run what suits them, while pushing students to take part.
What the CBSE Yuva for Viksit Bharat Programme 2026 asks schools to do
Here are the activities CBSE has suggested:
- Art workshop on the theme of Yuva for Viksit Bharat, with school students and art teachers taking part
- A competition where students narrate a biography or tell stories about the freedom struggle and freedom fighters during morning assemblies
- Competitions such as essay writing, painting and poster making
- Group discussions on India’s progress across fields
- A tree plantation drive under the programme Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam
- Awareness workshops on national initiatives for technological advancement
- Any other activity a school wishes to add
The list is a menu, not a checklist. A school can run one item or several.
CBSE Talkathon on 20 September 2026
Alongside the main programme, CBSE wants students to join a CBSE Talkathon on the theme #NashaMuktYuva for Viksit Bharat, set for 20 September 2026. A separate circular with the Talkathon details is on its way, so schools should watch out for it.
Reporting: the 31 October 2026 deadline
Every event and activity held during the celebrations should be captured properly. Schools then submit a brief report on these activities, and the last date to do that is 31 October 2026.

A quick note on the backdrop. Viksit Bharat is the government’s stated goal of turning India into a developed nation by 2047, and this programme ties school-level work to that vision. Sewa here simply means service to the community.
What schools should do now: plan the activities for September and October, run the Talkathon participation around 20 September, keep photos and notes of each event, and file the report through the form before 31 October 2026.
