CBSE Sets 6 Teacher Workshops on Skill Education Rollout

CBSE Sets 6 Teacher Workshops on Skill Education Rollout

Skill Education is no longer optional for the middle grades, and CBSE now wants teachers ready for it. The board is holding six offline training sessions across the country in July for Classes VI to VIII, built around NCERT’s Kaushal Bodh activity books. Heads of schools and their teaching staff are expected to show up.

These are Capacity Building Programmes, or CBPs, and they run in face-to-face mode only. Each one is tied to a Sahodaya School Complex in the host city. Sahodaya complexes are local clusters of CBSE-affiliated schools that pool resources and training.

The point is simple: teachers learn how to actually run Skill Education classes before it becomes routine work in their schools.

What participants should know

  • There is no fee to attend.
  • No TA/DA will be paid for attending.
  • Each session runs from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm.
  • Teachers can contact the venue school directly to join.
  • Confirm your participation with the venue school first, so it can plan the logistics.
  • Carry your NCERT Kaushal Bodh activity books to the session.

CBSE has told Directors, Principals, Vice-Principals and teachers of affiliated schools they must take part, so that Skill Education gets implemented properly back on their own campuses.

Who counts as the right person to send? Anyone who will handle Skill Education teaching in Classes VI to VIII. The training is short, one full day, and free, so schools near any of the six venues have little reason to skip it.

Participation is confirmed through the venue school, not a central CBSE portal. Pick the nearest date, call the listed contact, and block the day.
