Class IX Skill teachers, mark your calendars. CBSE is running free, day-long training sessions on the new Kaushal Vikas textbook at three schools this July, and it wants schools to send the teachers who will actually handle the subject in the classroom. The push comes as Skill education becomes compulsory for every Class IX student from the 2026-27 session.
Here’s the backstory. Following NEP 2020 and NCF-SE 2023, CBSE has reworked its scheme of studies for Class IX. Schools must now offer a Skill subject to all Class IX students starting the coming session. To help teachers get comfortable with the material, the board is holding Capacity Building Programmes (CBPs) in offline mode built around the NCERT Kaushal Vikas textbook.
Three cities, three dates. Each runs from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm.

With the first session in Cuttack falling on 21 July 2026, schools in eastern India have the least time to respond. Confirm the seat, keep the textbook handy, and reach the venue by 9 am.
