CBSE Opens Class 10 Answer Book Copies From 5 August

Class 10 students who feel their marks don’t match their answers now have a short window to check for themselves. CBSE has opened its post-result facilities for the Class X Main and Second Board Examinations 2026, starting with applications for scanned copies of evaluated answer books from 05.08.2026 (Wednesday) to 09.08.2026 (Sunday). Everything runs online, and late or offline applications will not be accepted.

The Class X Main Board Examination result was declared on 15.04.2026, and the Second Board Examination result on 18.07.2026.

Three facilities are on offer: a scanned copy of the evaluated answer book, verification of marks, and re-evaluation of one or more answers. The order matters. Only candidates who have obtained the scanned copy of the evaluated answer book are eligible to apply for verification of marks and/or re-evaluation.

Dates and fee

Fee has to be paid online through UPI, Credit Card, Debit Card or Net Banking. Postal Order, DD, Money Order, Cheque or Cash will not be accepted.

Who can apply for what

Students who sat only for the Main Board Examination can ask for scanned copies of answer books for any subject taken in that exam, then apply for verification and/or re-evaluation in the concerned answer book.

For those who appeared in both exams, subjects taken only in the Main Board Examination follow the same rules. But for a subject written in both exams, there’s a catch worth reading twice: a student may obtain both answer books, yet verification and/or re-evaluation can be requested for only one, either the Main Examination answer book or the Second Examination answer book. Once selected, the other cannot be considered.

Rules students should not miss

• Only a single application for each step per candidate will be accepted. Decide in advance whether you are applying for one subject or several, since no second opportunity will be given. Students will submit an online undertaking to this effect.
• Re-evaluation is done for the full question, not part of a question, and the candidate must give reasons for the request.
• Verification and re-evaluation are available only for the theory portion of the examination.
• Revised marks may go up, come down, or stay the same. A decrease of even one mark will be implemented.
• Where marks change, the candidate must surrender the Mark Statement cum Certificate in their possession and will be issued a fresh one.
• Fee will be refunded if marks increase after verification and/or re-evaluation, credited to the same account it was paid from.
• The result of verification and/or re-evaluation is final. No appeal or further review will be accepted.

The scanned answer book will appear in the candidate’s own login account, with examiner and evaluator details hidden. Status and outcome go to the same login. No separate individual message will be sent, so candidates have to keep checking the CBSE website themselves.

Applications must be submitted personally. CBSE has said it will not be responsible for errors made by any third party such as a cyber cafe. Applications not submitted as per the Board’s instructions will be summarily rejected without any correspondence with the candidate.

Before deciding, students are advised to compare their answers with the question paper and the marking scheme, both available on the CBSE website. CBSE has also asked students and parents to ignore unverified social media posts, rumours or unofficial sources about the result process, and to contact CBSE HQ, the respective Regional Offices or CBSE Helplines for help.

One more thing on the RTI route: a scanned copy of the answer book under the RTI Act 2005 will be provided as per the provisions of that Act, but requests for re-evaluation or grievance redressal cannot be made under the RTI Act and will not be entertained.
