Birla Shloka Edutech Ltd has developed an innovative and creative K-12 curriculum that aims to create an environment for nurturing global citizens. The new curriculum will be implemented during the 2011-2012 academic year in both existing and new schools.

The new curriculum creates a classroom setting which moves away from being teacher-centric to a more student-driven environment. Developed by a team of highly qualified educationists based on the National Curriculum Framework 2005, the Birla Shloka Edutech K-12 curriculum allows the students to be independent learners. The curriculum draws on the best practices of national and international boards such as SSC, CBSE, ICSE, IB and IGCSE.

For the holistic development of the student, the new curriculum focuses on conceptual understanding rather than merely covering the content in standard subjects such as mathematics, science and technology. The curriculum offers a wide-spectrum of support systems such as detailed lesson plans, assessments and e-learning programs. Furthermore, the students will be exposed to arts and craft to hone their creative skills which is nicely blended with ICT solutions.

Says Mr Sri Krishna, CEO Birla Shloka Edutech Ltd, “Today there is a great need for a progressive curriculum that motivates the learner to excel, think creatively and innovatively. The Birla Shloka Edutech curriculum intends to foster improved learning and instill a sense of creative thinking among the students. It will be easy for any school to adopt this curriculum as it integrates smoothly with curricula of all boards. We will undertake school audits and gap analysis before introducing our curriculum in schools.”
