National Education Day

The Central Board of Secondary Education has decided to observe "National Education Day" on 11th Nov., 2010, in pursuance of the directions issued by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi, vide their letter No. 17-29/2010.

The National Education Day is celebrated in memory of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, a great freedom fighter, an eminent educationist and the first Union Minister of Education. The Central Government, vide its Resolution dated 11th Sept., 2008 has declared 11th November, the Birthday Anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad as National Education Day.

In order to inculcate the spirit of learning and importance of education among the children, the CBSE schools may organize various programmes like debate, seminars and essay competitions, etc.

I hope that the schools will take necessary steps in this regard and action taken may kindly be intimated to the CBSE along with the photographs and enclosures by E-mail to diracad.cbse@yahoo.co.in.
