CBSE International Curriculum
Recently introduced CBSE International curriculum is getting wider acceptance, said Vineet Joshi IAS, Chairman Central Board of Secondary Education. He was interacting with media after concluding the 23rd CBSE Gulf principals’ conference in Kuwait.
CBSE-i curriculum is giving more importance to practical approach than the text book approach, he said. This give more research oriented exposure to the students and individual competition is reduced to an extent. Students are more focused on group studies and researches. This give more focus on the personality development of the student, he said.
Vinith Joshi also interacts with the ninth standard students of Indian central school, which is the only one school in Kuwait following these international curricula for ninth standard. The student’s performances exceed our expectations, he said. CBSE is planning to introduce Chinese language also as part of the international curriculum starting from April 1st of this year, he said. New modules such as retail management, physical fitness, etc also will be included in the curricula very soon.
