The CBSE Science Challenge for 2024-25 is officially underway, inviting students from classes 8th to 10th to explore the fascinating world of science under the theme of Science, Environment, and Sustainability. This initiative, orchestrated by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), aims to spur curiosity, foster higher-order thinking, and enhance problem-solving skills among young learners.

The challenge is divided into two distinct rounds—within school and inter-school competitions, ensuring no fee is required at any stage. The first round is set to kick off this April, with schools required to register their participants on the official CBSE platform. Each school can nominate six of their best students—two from each class—for the second round based on their performance.

Challenge Details:

  • Round One: Schools register students from April 10-19, 2024. A Science Challenge paper consisting of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) will be available from April 22, 2024. Schools will conduct the challenge by April 26, identifying top students for the next round.
  • Round Two: A computer-based challenge from May 13-17, 2024, for students registered for this round. Detailed modalities will be provided to participating schools.

This educational endeavor is not just a competition but a platform for students to demonstrate and enhance their scientific acumen. Participants of the second round will receive an online participation certificate, and standout performers will be awarded an Appreciation Certificate.

For registration and more information, schools and participants can access the Science Challenge Portal using their LOC credentials at CBSE Science Challenge Portal.

Dr. Joseph Emmanuel, Director (Academics) at CBSE, encourages all affiliated schools to promote participation among their students. This challenge represents a unique opportunity for students to engage deeply with scientific concepts and showcase their understanding in a competitive environment.

This initiative reflects CBSE's commitment to enhancing educational experiences that align with contemporary scientific needs and environmental sustainability, preparing students not just for exams but for real-world challenges.
