Reviews of Burul Girls High School

Hena Hishu Alumni - 2025

2.2/5
My sister studied at Burul Girls' High School from Class 5 to 10. Unfortunately, her overall experience was quite disappointing. The quality of teaching in the school is poor, with many teachers lacking proper teaching skills and commitment. This made it difficult for students to receive a proper education. One of the most disturbing incidents happened during her Madhyamik pre-board (test) exam, specifically in the Life Science paper. While my sister was writing her exam sincerely, a teacher continuously harassed her by accusing her of cheating. Even after checking her multiple times and finding no evidence of cheating, the harassment did not stop. This behavior was not only unprofessional but emotionally disturbing. It seemed like a case of unnecessary targeting, possibly influenced by personal bias—something that should never happen in a school environment. After completing Class 10, when my sister requested a school leaving certificate, the school took over two weeks to provide it and demanded Rs. 100, even though nearby schools like burul High school/Baratala Poali High School do not charge anything for this. Furthermore, during exams, students with attendance issues were forced to pay at least Rs. 500 to be allowed to sit for the exams—something that raises serious concerns about transparency and fairness. Though Burul Girls’ High School is supposed to be under the Government of West Bengal/India, issues like corruption, unskilled faculty, and lack of proper management are continuously harming its reputation and the future of its students. I sincerely hope the authorities look into these matters and work towards improving the standard and fairness in this institution.
