CBSE Private Candidate Class 10 Exam Form 2027: Registration Open

CBSE Private Candidate Class 10 Exam Form 2027: Registration Open

Repeat, compartment and improvement candidates from Class 10 now have their window. CBSE has opened online submission of examination forms for private candidates who want to sit the Class X Board exams in 2027. Forms go live from 8 October 2026 (Thursday), and everything, from the application to the fee, happens online.

The exams for these private students will be held in February, March and April 2027, together with the Board’s Main Examinations 2027.

Who can apply as a CBSE private candidate for Class X 2027

Four groups of students are covered under this notice:

  • Candidates of session 2025-26 declared Essential Repeat in the 2026 result.
  • Candidates of session 2025-26 placed in Compartment in the Board’s Main and Supplementary Examinations 2026 (Second Chance Compartment).
  • Candidates declared Fail/Essential Repeat in 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026.
  • Passed candidates of 2026 who want to appear for Improvement of Performance in one or more subjects.

One point worth underlining for improvement cases: only students declared PASS in 2026 can apply to better their score, and only in subjects they already appeared in during 2026.

How to fill the CBSE private candidate form

Students must apply through the “व्यक्तिगत परीक्षार्थी” (private candidate) link on the CBSE website: https://www.cbse.gov.in/newsite/private/index.html.

A working email ID is mandatory for OTP verification. Each student can fill only one form, under one category, so pick carefully. For those who appeared in the 2026 Board exam, personal details are auto-generated in the system. Students from 2025 and earlier must enter their own Roll No., School number and Centre number correctly; wrong entries lead to rejection. Photo and signature have to be uploaded as JPG files within 40 KB.

The city of the examination centre, once allotted, will not be changed, so the city choice needs care. Corrections to the form, including subject and centre, are allowed only up to the last date of submission.

The syllabus for these exams is on this link: https://cbseacademic.nic.in/curriculum_2027.html.
