A majority of colleges in India are either private or government; only a few have autonomy in terms of finance and authority. The Central Government of India has the authority to make rules and regulations pertaining to the higher education system. However, State Governments ensure setting up of State Government colleges. As per the education system in India, the higher education is of 3 years minimum, which includes Arts, Commerce, Science, Engineering, Medical, Architecture, among many others.
