I would like to share my experience that I had at Global City International School. I was looking for my son's admission to Grade 1. As a pre-defined procedure, there was an interaction session between the admission staff and my son. But my son was not ready to speak up as the staff were strangers to him. I was aware of this behavior of my son, and in spite of repeated persuasion by me and by the admission staff, we couldn't see any progress. At this stage, another staff member of GCIS, Roslin Richard, started taking initiative in this matter. She happens to be a child counsellor in GCIS. I felt that she was fully experienced and capable of handling the situation. She spent more than 45 minutes with my son. She took him around the campus, started making him feel safe and comfortable. At the end she was able to interact with him. Also, she went through my son's notes of UKG and was quite impressed with his handwriting. She then decided to speak personally to the principal and talked about my son's admission. The school principal, being very empathetic, assured me of the admission. But at the same time he requested I take further help from the child counsellor in order to bring the best out of my kid. I was deeply moved by each and every member of the school staff for being so patient and empathetic toward my son. I also appreciate GCIS for having a staff member like Roslin Richard, who is very capable of understanding and helping children instead of judging them. Thank you.
