The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has successfully concluded the Aryabhata Ganit Challenge for the academic session 2023, a pioneering initiative launched in 2019-20. Targeted at students from classes VIII to X in CBSE-affiliated schools, the Challenge is a testament to the Board's commitment to integrating mathematical principles with practical life applications. This year's challenge has been a colossal success, marking a new milestone in the journey towards fostering essential competencies like problem-solving skills, logical reasoning, and analytical thinking among students.

The Challenge unfolds in two distinct stages: an offline school-level test and a subsequent online national-level test. Both stages, lasting one hour each, feature multiple-choice questions that cumulatively carry 40 marks. The initial stage, conducted offline, serves a dual purpose – providing equal opportunities for all students and acting as an evaluative tool for schools. The top three students from each affiliated school, determined through the CBSE-prepared question paper, advance to the national-level test. This online stage is meticulously designed to assess the higher-order mathematical skills of the participants.

This year's Challenge witnessed enthusiastic participation from approximately 550,000 students across 5,050 schools at the school level, with 8,590 students advancing to the national level. In a commendable achievement, the top 100 students from each CBSE region were honored with Merit certificates. Notably, the results have been presented in alphabetical order, consciously avoiding a hierarchical ranking to discourage unhealthy competition and undue emphasis on individual marks.

Dr. Joseph Emmanuel, the Director of Academics at CBSE, extends congratulations to all the students and schools who fervently participated in the Aryabhata Ganit Challenge 2023. This initiative significantly contributes to the promotion of mathematical proficiency and the holistic development of students, reinforcing CBSE's dedication to fostering an environment where academic talent is nurtured and celebrated.
