IIT Qatar
India is awaiting Qatar’s approval to set up a campus of its globally acknowledged Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), according to Minister of State for Human Resource Development Daggupati Purandeswari. She said India had expressed its willingness to open an IIT campus in Qatar last year. However, infrastructure for the complex needed to be developed locally, she said. Purandeswari said once her country received the necessary clearance, efforts to set up the campus would be intensified.
