B.Ed Admissions in Karnataka
No more is the Bachelor’s degree in Education as appealing since it used to be. The authorities is focused on reforming the image of the study course. One way to do that, it believes, will be to make sure that the exam for admission to BEd program in the state is conducted by the Karnataka Education Authority (KEA), the body which conducts examinations for admission to medical along with engineering colleges/universities in the state.
From the next academic year, admission to BEd courses will be conducted by the KEA, and the examination will be modeled on the Combined Entrance Test (CET), the examination that channels students into professional courses. “If the BEd course is brought under the umbrella of KEA, we expect there will be increased transparency, which will attract more candidates,” said AS Srikanth, principal secretary, state department of higher education. “At present, the KEA conducts counselling for eligible BEd candidates, aiding in the selection of colleges.
