Vocational Training in India

The National Vocational Framework for a uniform and a nationally recognised qualification system for this stream of training will be in place by early next year.

The Human Resource Development Ministry has set up a committee to work out a standard curriculum in specialised sectors like automobile manufacturing, which will be in sync with the industry.

The committee will submit its recommendations within the next three months, HRD Minister Kapil Sibal said here on Tuesday.. Addressing an MoU-signing ceremony between the Indian School of Business in Hyderabad and the Fletcher School, Tufts University, US, Sibal said the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy will support setting up the Bharti Institute of Public Policy on the upcoming ISB campus at Mohali, Punjab.

The collaboration envisages faculty exchange opportunities, curriculum development, research and training support in areas like trade policy, energy, environment and security policy.
