National Academic Depository Bill 2011

Expressing concern over the fake certificate racket in Delhi University, HRD minister Kapil Sibal today said the government will table the National Academic Depository Bill 2011 in the coming monsoon session of Parliament to deal with the menace of forged certificates.

"I am concerned (on the issue of fake certificate). We have prepared the said bill. University certificate will be in demat format so that no one is able to produce forged certificate. We will introduce it in the coming monsoon session of Parliament," he said.

The cabinet in March this year has given its nod to the Bill.

Sibal was talking to reporters on the sidelines of a function where he interacted with representatives from the infrastructure sector in connection with the proposed National Vocational Qualification Framework.

The minister, earlier addressing the function, said producing skilled hands for the infrastructure sector was the biggest challenge that the country faced today as "maximum investment will go into infrastructure and construction sector".

Sibal also interacted with representatives from the automobile, telecom, entertainment sectors for framing of the vocational qualification framework.
