NIELIT or National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology, formerly DOEACC Society, is an autonomous body. It is also a scientific society which is directly under the administrative control of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India. The basic objective of setting up of this premier organization was to carry out the Human Resource Development and other related activities in the domains of Information, Electronics and Communications Technology.
NIELIT is involved with both non-formal and formal education in the domains of IECT besides developing industry oriented training programmes and quality education. It aims to become the apex body for examination and certifications in the fields of IECT. It is also the National Examination Body, which holds the main duty of accrediting the organizations and the institutions which conduct courses in the non-formal and the IT sector.
NIELIT has acquired a vast experience in the fields of IT training ranging from Foundation courses, Advance Diploma Courses, MCA equivalent courses and M-Tech equivalent courses. It also undertakes Re4search and Development projects, turnkey projects related to office automation, software development, consultancy services and website development. It is also the main agency for implementing and creating National Population Register and Data Digitization of population.
