KVPY
KISHORE VAIGYANIK PROTSAHAN YOJANA
Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana or KVYP is a scholarship program for the science students who wish to further take up research career after completing their post graduate program. The scholarship program is funded by Government of India, Department of Science and Technology. The Government grants fund till pre-Ph.D level and the students to qualifies the KVYP exam will be able to secure admission in Institutes like IISc and IISER. Some additional criteria is also taken into account besides KVYP exam. After qualifying the exam, the students are granted fellowship and it varies from course to course.
KVYP Exam Pattern
- Mode of exam – The aptitude test is conducted through Online (Computer Based Test).
- Duration of the Exam – 3 Hours
- Type of Question – Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)
- Number of Questions – 80
- Total Marks - 100 marks
- Sections: There are two streams SA and SB/SX . All questions in SA are compulsory and in SB/SX there are two parts part I and Part II. In SB/SX students has the option to attempt any three sections from Part I and any two sections from Part II.
- Subjects : Stream SA and SB/SX both has Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
Syllabus
There is no specific syllabus for the exam and the aptitude test is mainly to test the analytical and understanding ability of the student and their factual knowledge. Students are tested for the syllabus which will range from Class X till M.Sc and M.S.
Preparation
Preparation for KVYP must have proper strategy and planning to stay focused explore their weaknesses and strength. Once the candidate can trace their weakness and strength they will be able to put proper effort on each subject where they need more brushing. Correct Study material must be chosen to crack the exam and get into the prestigious Institutes like IISC and IISER.
