CBSE Schools to Celebrate 5th International Yoga Day on 21st June

The United Nations has declared 21st June as International Day of Yoga and it is celebrated worldwide since 2015.

Yoga is one of the old disciplines that has been given to the world by India. Yoga is a Sanskrit word meaning ‘Union’ which uses breathing techniques, exercise and meditation to improve health and happiness.

Keeping in mind its significance for the masses, this year too, the 5th International Day of Yoga is being celebrated on 21st June, 2019. All schools affiliated to the Board are advised to participate in the country wide movement for the promotion of health and well-being by celebrating the 5th International Day of Yoga. The schools may celebrate the day by involving students from Grade 1-12 in an appropriate manner by organizing the following activities for its staff, students and other stakeholders:

  1. Mass yoga demonstrations from 7-8 am on International Day of Yoga in the school premises on voluntary basis
  2. Musical or any other Art integrated Yoga event or fest
  3. Debate, Essay, Quiz, Slogan writing or Drawing Competitions based on Yoga
  4. Any other activity which the school deems fit for ensuring awareness generation in students at all levels.

The schools are further advised to submit the report of the activities conducted along with the photographs at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSd8gOjl1tywbC66psi0RqP-Xdvre6JGilbXUHm9lN8SO6CNcw/viewform and should also upload on their own website.
