This introductory course has two parts: Language and Culture. It gives students a basic foundation for their study of Standard Chinese Mandarin. It provides essential grounding in the pronunciation and tonal structure of Chinese. The programme will help learners to recognise and write approximately 120 basic Chinese characters as well as recognise a further 130 Chinese words and phrases.On the other hand, students will not only learn the language, but acquire an overall understanding of Chinese political, social and economic aspects as well. This is the unique feature of this programme, which no other Universities or Institutes offer in this city.
