Delhi may get a Meta University

If the HRD Ministry has its way, New Delhi could see a Meta University soon. Jamia Milia Institute, Delhi University, Jawaharlal Nehru University and Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi would participate in this arrangement.

Meta University in Delhi

Meta Universities enable sharing of learning resources from different universities by using latest technologies available in order to benefit students. They represent second generation universities, free from physical boundaries and able to operate in virtual space, taking advantage of the innovation and flexibility possible in such domain.

These institutions are expected to commence their course from the next academic session. This information was given by D Purandeswari, Minister of State for Human Resource Development, in written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha.
