CBSE Papers Leaked

Three persons, including a school principal, were arrested today from Car Nicobar island on the charge of leaking question papers of the ongoing CBSE examinations.

Krishnan Raju, principal of Government Senior Secondary School at Lapati; Rashid, an executive engineer of the Andamans PWD; and Vijayan, a forest ranger, were arrested for leaking the question papers, officials in the Directorate of Education department said.

"The CBSE question papers of Class X and Class XII were leaked on February 17 in Car Nicobar. But instead of canceling the examination, authorities conducted the examination in March 1," the Andaman and Nicobar MP told reporters outside Parliament.

The papers reportedly leaked were that of English and mathematics of Class XII and the entire science group including physics, chemistry and biology of Class X.

Meanwhile, BJP MP from the region Bishnupada Roy demanded in New Delhi that the examinations be cancelled and fresh ones held.

He claimed there was an organised racket behind the leakages and demanded a detailed probe into it.

"A second set of question papers on the subjects have been kept ready. The examination will continue. Examination for the leaked papers will be held again," he said.

The CBSE examinations for Class XII and Class X started on March 1.
