The Imagine Cup encourages young people to apply their imagination, their passion and their creativity to technology innovations that can make a difference in the world -today. Now in its seventh year, the Imagine Cup has grown to be a truly global competition focused on finding solutions to real world issues.In 2009, more than 300,000 students from 142 countries entered the Imagine Cup competition.
Theme
Imagine a world where technology helps solve the toughest problems
A Participant must ensure that his/her team’s duly filled up valid registration form & submission in English language in the prescribed format is posted on www.imaginecup.com/in/sd.aspx on or before the deadlines of the respective rounds.
- Round A Deadline: 31st Dec 2009 (11:59 PM )
- Round B Deadline: 28th Feb 2010 (11:59 PM )
Eligibility :
- You are 16 years of age or older.
- You are actively enrolled as a student during the Contest Period at an accredited educational institution that grants high-school or college/university (or equivalent) degrees.
- You are not an employee or intern of Microsoft Corporation, or an employee of a Microsoft subsidiary.
- You are not involved in any part of the execution or administration of this Contest.
- You are not an immediate family member of (parent, sibling, spouse, child) or household member of a Microsoft employee, an employee of a Microsoft subsidiary, or a person involved in any part of the administration and execution of this Contest.
- A Team may consist of up to four eligible student Participants & can only represent one country/region- in this case, India. It is recommended, but not required, that the Team have one mentor in addition to the student Team members.
Contest Period: 6th November 2009 to 30th April 2010
Location: Warsaw, Poland
National Finals: April 2010
WorldWide Finals: July 2010
Prizes:
- 1st Prize: INR 80,000
- 2nd Prize: INR 70,000
- 3rd Prize: INR 60,000
- Consolation Prizes (for 2 teams): INR 40,000 per team
