The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the Centre for Assessment, Evaluation and Research (CAER) announce the 'CBSE-CAER International Conference 2014' to be held at the Leela Ambience, Gurgaon on 28th and 29th April 2014. The Conference is designed to disseminate information on education assessments and global best practices in assessments to educators across India and the globe.

Why a Conference on Assessments?

Assessment practices in classrooms have a remarkable potential to positively augment student learning. Purposeful assessments, which are designed with a clear objective in mind, can lead to wide scale improvements in learning. Therefore, it is imperative to have constant knowledge sharing of innovative ideas that can strengthen global education and contribute in enhancing student performance in classrooms.

The two-day international conference will bring together academicians, policy makers, school educators and noted experts in the field of assessments and provide a platform for large scale knowledge sharing and dissemination. Participants of the Conference will be able to identify and gain the skills that are necessary to carry forward assessment activities in their professional fields, identify national and international resources that will help meet their assessment needs and develop fruitful partnerships that wiii promote international exchange of ideas.

Objectives of the Conference:

The Conference is being organised with the objective of:

  • disseminating key ideas and practices on assessment in India and the globe
  • strengthening existing assessment practices and provide a platform to showcase these to a larger audience
  • promoting collaborations, partnerships and educational alliances specifically in the field of assessments
  • introducing and promoting emerging ideas and practical implications of educational assessments
  • promoting the use of ICTs and technological innovations in education assessments
