CBSE starts Counselling to reduce Exam Stress

A month ahead of Class-X and Class-XII board examinations, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) today started counselling sessions for students and parents to help them overcome exam related stress.

Multiple modes of communication such as telephonic counselling, question answers columns in newspapers, Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) and on-line counselling through CBSE website is being used to reach out to the examinees, the CBSE said.

The board exams begin in march first week and counselling will continue up to April eight.

The CBSE offers tele-counselling by trained professionals and principals from its affiliated schools. As many as 52 principals, counsellors, psychologists and social scientists are operating this helpline from 8 a.m up to mid-night from several locations, including Delhi, Noida, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Bhubaneswar, Vishakhapatnam, Jabalpur, Coimbatore, Bhopal, Nagpur, Bangalore, Guwahati and Pune.
