Subject: Revised Question Paper Design in Sociology, Class XII, March, 2010 Examination

Your attention is drawn to the Board’s Office Circular No. 14/08 dated 15th April 2008, conveying CBSE Board’s decision to introduce Practical Project Work in Sociology for classes XI and XII from the academic session 2008-09 of class XI and the class XII Board examination 2010.

Accordingly the revised design of the Board’s theory Question paper of 80 marks will be as follows :

It may kindly be noted that the passage for the passage based question may not be necessarily taken from the NCERT textbook. The paragraph may also be taken from any magazine/newspaper but it will be essentially based on the theme/content prescribed in the Board’s syllabus.

Further, the passage-based question will be an open ended question having no fixed answer. The students well aware of the theme and the context can attempt such questions based on their logical reasoning.

The revised Question papers in Sociology, Class XII for the 2010 Board Examination have been posted on the Board’s website www.cbse.nic.in .
