Important Points:

  • Improvement Exams takes place next year in march and results will be declared in may.Means you get a whole year to prepare for the improvement exam.

  • We can appear for improvement exam for any one or all of the passing subjects and not in the subjects in which they have been declared fail.

  • We have to submit a fee of Rs.200 per subject to the CBSE Board.

  • Forms will be released by CBSE from august till october and can be collected from School or CBSE Regional office.

  • Students may appear in the failing subject(Sixth subject) at the Compartment Examination to be held in July/August the same year.

  • Candidates who appear for improvement of performance will be issued only Statement of Marks reflecting the marks of the improvement examination.


(i) A candidate who has passed Secondary School Examination of the Board may reappear at the examination for improvement of performance in one or more subjects in the main examination in succeeding year only, provided he/she has not pursued higher studies in the mean time. He/she shall appear as a private candidate. Those reappearing in the whole examination, may appear as regular school candidates also.

(ii) A candidate appearing for improvement in subject(s) involving practical shall appear only in theory and previous practical marks shall be carried forward and accounted for.

(iii) A candidate appearing for improvement of performance shall be issued only Statement of Marks reflecting the marks obtained at the improvement examination in the subject(s).

A candidate who has passed Class 10th / 12th exams but would like to go for Improvement exam to improve performance in one or more subjects can reappear in the main examination in the succeeding year only. If you have passed class 10th / 12th this year, you have to wait for next year main examination.

For subjects involving practical work, in case the candidate has passed in practical at the main examination, he/she shall be allowed to appear in the theory part only and marks in practical obtained at the main examination shall be carried forward and accounted for.

In case a candidate has failed in practical he/she shall have to appear in theory and practical both irrespective of the fact that he/she has already cleared the theory examination.

Candidates who appear for improvement of performance will be issued only Statement of Marks reflecting the marks of the main examination as well as those of the improvement examination.CBSE Improvement Exams Paper 2009 12th Admit Card Procedure re-evaluation.

Improvement exam forms are available in july…they are the same form used for filling up re-compartment. Each form costs Rs.10, and are available at some Syndicate Banks in Delhi. There are two types of forms, one for “Delhi, DISSCE” and one for “All India…, AISSCE”….Delhi one is only for govt schools in Delhi…. All India ones are for private schools.

A candidate appearing for improvement of performance in one or more subjects can not appear for additional subject simultaneously.

    Sir, Will the syllabus for improvement in mathematics be same as that of class 12 current batch? Shall we get the same question paper of mathematics as the current 12th batch would be giving? Please reply to my querry .

    Hello!! i also see the website & found the extension of improvement form,
    so please can tell me from where to get the form,from regional office or from any other location.when I went to the school (k.v Bhopal) they said to me that they have no information regarding it.please help, i don’t want to lose this opportunity……

    sir i m from haryana and i came to know about extended date of improvement forms i m not getting it from school and anywhere else sir please tell me from where i can get it i dontwant to loose this opportunity

      Try to get it from CBSE Regional Office of Delhi, some students are saying the forms are finished…

    bt ws nt able to appear in those exams..

    sir,I have submitted my application for improvement but with the photocopy of the orginal form .my school authority said photocopy will do i want to know will my form will get rejected if yes can i reapply

      Yes i think they will reject your form.
      The original form costs Rs.10

    The question paper of improvement exam of mathematics will be the same as that of class 12th current batch?

    Sir,
    I appeared class-X board cbse exam in 2008, but failed in sst.I could not appear 2009 10th pvt exam due to rejection of form for late submission of application.This time , I have applied to appear 10th board pvt Exam, 2010.I have forgot to attach 02 self-addressed envelope.The next day I sent these envelopes.My application Form No-3832, bank dft. No.893528/14.09.2009.Application Form sent on 26.09.2009 by speed post, which must have reached CBSE Regional Office in time. THIS IS MY LAST CHANCE TO APPEAR 10TH CBSE EXAM. I am afraid of my form,s status.Can anybody tell when admit card will be sent to me.

    sir due to some reasons I was not able to fill improvement form and last date for submitting improvement form is over …….is there any alternate way to fill the improvement form …. its necessary for me to fill this form because i have to fill bits form also……pzzzzzzzzzzz try to help me

    I passed my 12th in 2005 with low marks… I would like to improve my marks… Is that possible to improve them now?? Can i give improvement papers now?? if yes, plz inform me about the procedure on my email id… with the fee per subject & last date to submit d form…

    I have given improvement for three subjects of 12th standard.
    Is there any problem if i didn’t write exam for two subject, will it affect my present marks….?
